Hello! I’m Yasmina (“Yes-mee-nah”), and my understanding of mental health has been developing through years of dedicated practice and study. I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients in various settings (outpatient, residential and wilderness therapy) seeking treatment for a wide array of concerns, including anxiety, depression, general life stressors, identity-work, psychosis, relationship issues, trauma, and problematic substance use.

In therapy, I am able to integrate a unique blend of information and skills gained from my background in philosophy, mathematics, and primitive living, for a multifaceted approach to mental health care.  I often draw from attachment theory, awareness of neurobiology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), existentialism, Motivational Interviewing, and nature.  I aim to blend the latest research in mental health care with insights from various fields to ensure the most comprehensive and effective therapeutic experience for my clients.

As your therapist, your goals are my top priority. I deeply value the diverse identities and experiences of my clients and actively encourage your feedback to ensure sessions are finely tailored to your identity. Collaboration is key. If you choose to work with me, you can depend on a purposeful alliance rooted in curiosity, empathy, compassionate challenging, and unflinching support. I move at the speed of trust to cultivate a dynamic that is both safe and useful. Together, we can move toward your goals, through moments of profound clarity, self-awareness, connection, healing, and growth. I look forward to the honor of being part of your journey.

I will be interning at Hazel House through May 2025, and I’d welcome a free, no-obligation phone call to see if we might be a good fit for one another.

I am a student intern working toward my Master’s degree at Vanderbilt University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have professional membership in the American Counseling Association and I am currently being supervised by Vanderbilt faculty and Dr. Lindsay Vaughn, Psy.D., HSP, CSP.
